The Founder, Zane Massey: Before founding Arbitrac, I graduated from the University of Southern Queensland with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance and Information Security. I then spent seven years working across Australia’s banking and financial technology sectors, including managerial roles with Firstmac Bank and Funding.com.au, before spending four years helping operate a family-owned civil earthworks business.
During that time, I experienced firsthand how difficult it can be for small and medium-sized operators to source high-quality machinery at fair and competitive prices. I also gained a strong, customer-focused perspective on the practical difficulties of running an earthworks company—particularly when it came to securing viable funding solutions and navigating the inflationary pressures of the construction industry. Having endured the economic uncertainty of the Covid pandemic and the fuel surges driven by global conflict, I know how tough it is to run and maintain a civil operation in this day and age.
Those challenges ultimately led to the creation of Arbitrac. I realized that Australian operators didn't just need access to overseas machinery; they needed a partner who ensured those machines actually met rigid local safety and engineering benchmarks. We founded Arbitrac specifically to bridge this gap, ensuring that overseas machine sourcing is fully AS ISO compliant.
Our goal is simple: make machinery sourcing more transparent, more straightforward, and entirely accountable. Every machine, quote, and transaction is handled professionally, with clear communication, realistic expectations, and strict adherence to Australian standards.
We’re still at the beginning of our journey, and our focus isn’t on growing quickly — it’s on building trust and ensuring compliance, one successful delivery at a time.
